When it comes to making an insurance claim for auto hail damage, hail damage is covered under your comprehensive coverage on your policy. It is a no fault claim, and when the situation arises, you simply call your agent or your insurnace company to make the claim. Most insurance companies will give you a claim number almost immediately. Once you have the claim number, the insurance company's processes vary a little bit. Right now with the COVID thing going on, they are not doing field inspections of hail damage claims and they're not typically making people go and get inspections elsewhere.

Currently, they are allowing American Dent Specialists to write the estimates and take the photos and then submit that for their approval. Once we go through an agreement on what they're going to pay for repairs or what we're requesting for repairs then we can proceed with the hail damage repair. Payments are issued sometimes directly to the owner, sometimes directly to the shop or sometimes they are co-payable depending on financing on the vehicle; any of those scenarios are fine. 
We deal with that directly with the insurance company. So any issues that arise can be handled without having to involve our client. We strive to make your hail damage repair claim as stress-free as possible for the client.

Dan Hernandez started as a technician and then went to work for the largest insurance company in the United States. He was trained in all aspects of auto claims and worked for them for several years. After that he went to work at a body shop as an estimator and assistant manager before returning to the insurance world with a different company. Over the years, he has worked for two insurance companies, two independent appraisal companies, and three body shops. He has been trained in insurance claims for automobiles, boats, RVs, heavy equipment, semis, etc.
